Anyone who has been through a wage garnishment knows what a nightmare that can be. The IRS ordered my employer to deduct half my salary to pay the dues that I owed the tax authority. I hadn’t filed my tax return in three years, which was quite clumsy of me but the wage garnishment would have completely messed up my financial situation. I had other payments to keep up with, including a mortgage that already took a big chunk out of my salary. After failing to reach out to the IRS, I booked an appointment with Legacy Tax Resolution. Their consultant visited me, talked to my employer and they also negotiated with the IRS. They were able to negotiate a settlement where the wage garnishment order was rescinded in favor of salary deductions over the next ten months. I am quite relieved with this outcome as it is much better than the alternative.
